I'm happy that Facebook finally decided I should be friends with Mila.

The Shortest Path for the Darkest Age

These flyers were next to the register at our neighborhood coffee shop.  I had no idea Buddhism could even be extreme, let alone "harder, faster, more outrageous."  For more info, go to extremebuddhism.org

Barcode Revolution

I really liked the way this Japanese firm spruced up the old barcode.  (via infosethetics)

Cool Hat

All kids should probably be given a hat like this.  Happy 2nd B-Day Elliot!

Facebook Answers

When I post a question to Facebook, I often get great answers very quickly.  It would be cool if these questions/answers were aggregated and saved.

blocks are good, but he REALLY likes vehicles... cars / trucks / planes / trains / etc. (preferably those whose wheels or tires cannot be pried off.)

Give him 10 dollars and then take him to the dollar store to spend it. Seriously. It's little kid paradise there.

Get him something that says 3+ on it. They handicap those age ratings to make parents feel that their kids are smart. He'll be bored with anything less but avoid small parts.

The Jobless Rate for People Like You

This is a GREAT visualization from the NYT.  It's simple, tells an important story, and provides much more information than a typical news headline.

Separately, it's sad to see so many people without jobs.  I hope things pick up.

Flatbed Toaster?!

Probably nothing a Toaster Oven couldn't handle, but clever marketing nonetheless.
